TURPIN, ALVERTA HICKS - 85 of Clinton entered Heaven's Glory at her residence on October 29, 2010. She was born April 16, 1925. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She will always be remembered for her love for her Lord Jesus and her walk with Him, her family and friends and her Golden Links Sunday School Class for her sweet spirit, her kindness and hospitality and the many cards, pies and cakes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Rose Hicks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hester & Margaret Turpin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Turpin; son-in-law, Bob Martin; sisters, Anna Lou & Willie; brother, Clyde; sisters-in-law, Dessie, Mildred and Edna; brother-in-law, Edgar. Survived by husband of 64 years, Alex Elmer Turpin; daughters, Diane Martin, Sarah Jane Stooksbury & husband Duane; sons, Eddie Turpin & wife Kathy, Steve Turpin & wife Peggy; grandchildren, Rob, Danny & Farrah, Dustin, Kayla, Alex, Ted & Michelle, Kenny & Denise, Sherry & Tammy; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Hicks & wife Juanita, Tommy Hicks & fiancée Cindy; sister, Sue Brown & husband Dwight; sister-in-law, Mae Hensley; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Receiving of her family & friends will be Monday, November 1, 2010 from 4-7PM at the Bethel Baptist Church with a celebration of her life at 7:00PM with Rev. Darrell Taylor and Rev. J. C. Newman officiating. Family & friends will meet at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 2nd at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services.
