FOSTER, ARTHUR - of Oneida, TN, passed away October 26, 2010 at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his father, Ephram Foster and mother, Margaret Boyatt Foster; brothers, Roy, Elzie, Howard, Glenn, Clay and Loy; and sisters, Geneva Terry and Arnie Slaven. Survivors include wife of 60 years, Edith Payne Foster; children, Larry and wife Nancy Foster, Gary and wife, Tammy Foster, John and wife Deidre Foster, Nona and husband, Tim Baird, Shawna and husband, Jack Bertram and Glenna Shelton; grandchildren, Laura and husband, Josh Webber; Matthew Foster, Michael Foster and fiancée Katie Morris; Jonathan and wife McKelia Cotton, Christopher Cotton and fiancée Merita Pierce, Matthew and Kati Baird, Jacqueline and husband Dustin Walters, Emily Bertram; a great granddaughter Kathryn Webber; and a special niece, Arnie Foster Tubbs and husband, Charlie. Arthur was a proud World War II veteran of the US Navy, was a retiree of Tibbals' Flooring and First Trust and Savings Bank. His interests were singing, gardening, studying the Bible, church activities, and nursing home missions. He became a Christian at age 18 when he joined Foster Crossroads Baptist Church and later became a member of New Haven Baptist. He loved spending time with family and friends and shared his love for Christ by leading music and teaching in his local church. Friends may visit with the Foster family Thursday evening October 28th from 6 until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. at the New Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Bond and Rev. Joseph McGaha officiating. Graveside service will be conducted Friday October 29th at 10:30 a.m. in the Cooper Memorial Cemetery. Jones & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Arthur Foster.
