HAMLEY , RUSH MONDAY age 82, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2008. He was a devout and faithful member of Inskip Baptist Church for 45 years, who served God for 64 years with a kind and gentle heart as an active Deacon, choir member, Trustee and Mission Coordinator along with his wife. Rush retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Machinist Foreman after 34 years of service. He served God and his country as a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy for 3 years as a Machinist Mate, 3rd Class on the U.S. Hensdale in the Pacific. He was also a 50 year member of the Fountain City Masonic Lodge #757 F.&A.M in Knoxville. Rush was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Anna Ruth Fraker Hamley and his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia (Pat) A. and Kenneth (Ken) Shipley and Rebecca (Becky) J. and Lawrence F. (Larry) Cox. Grandsons, Michael G. Collins, Brian R. Collins and wife Jessica, David M. Cox and Jonathan L. Cox and 4 great grandsons, who all miss him greatly. Surviving brothers, Frank A. Hamley , Jr. and Jack A. Hamley and sister Frances I. Wade and many nieces and nephews. He was the baby of 9 siblings born to and preceded in death by Frank A. Hamley , Sr. and Zura Willie Hobson Hamley . Also preceded in death by brothers, Harold C. Hamley , William H. Hamley and sisters, Mary E. Mynatt, Grace L. Turner and Margaret L. Atkins. Service, 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City, Rev. Mike Segers and Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. Family and friends will meet, 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City and proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Mike and Brian Collins, David Cox, Harold Fraker and Allen and Steve Hamley . Honorary pallbearers: Inskip Baptist Deacons. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the "Together We Can" fund at Inskip Baptist Church, 4810 Rowan Road, Knoxville, TN 37912. Our family would like to thank the CCU staff at St. Mary's Hospital and NHC, Knoxville for their compassionate care during his illness.
