CARTER , MR. FRANKLIN OTIS, JR. - age 72, of Maynardville, passed away Sunday, September 5, 1999, at Northhaven Healthcare Center. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was a retired plumber. Preceded in death by father, Franklin O. Carter , Sr. Survivors include mother, Myrtle Carter ; sisters and brother-in-law, Wilma and Clifford Reeves, Betty Monroe, and Janna Meyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marshal and Judy, Coy and Iva , Roy and Peggy, and Carlos and Martha Jean; several nieces and nephews; devoted friends, the Luther Cox family, along with a host of other friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in Ailor's Chapel, Rev. Luther Cox officiating. Music by Darrell Carter . Interment at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Skaggs Cemetery. Pallbearers: Rick Carter , Jimmy Carter , Coy Ray Carter , Jeff Carter , Roger Reeves, and Bill Monroe. Honorary pallbearers: the Adult Sunday school class at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at Northhaven Healthcare Center. Ailor Mortuary, Maynardville, in charge of arrangements.
