CARTER, MR. ROBERT "MARSHALL" - age 78, of Halls, passed away 8:10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2003, at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by father and mother, Frank and Myrtle Carter daughters, Carol Perry, Connie Collins grandson, Christopher Hensley brothers, Roy and Otis Carter father-in-law, L. R. Avery brothers-in-law, Clifford Reeves, Scott Monroe. Survived by wife, Julia Carter of Halls daughters, Brenda Hensley, Sandra Franklin, both of Knoxville sons, Ray Butler and wife, Emily, of Knoxville, John Butler of Knoxville grandchildren, Robert Shane Gaddy, Maria Watson, Sean Hensley and wife, Christie Hensley, Danielle Hensley, Steven Collins and fiancé, Christy, Cristen Franklin, Jake Butler, Landon Butler, Brady Butler, Madison Butler great-grandchildren, Alexis Watson, Nik and Zoe Hensley brothers and sisters-in-law, Coy and Iva Carter, Carlos and Martha Jean Carter, all of Knoxville Peggy Carter of Maynardville sisters, Jan Myers, Wilma Reeves, Betty Monroe, all of Knoxville mother-in-law, Gertrude Avery of Halls many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends special caregivers, Linda McCarter and Glea Miller. Family and friends will meet 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ailor Mortuary to go in procession to Cedar Grove Cemetery on Norris Freeway for a 2:00 p.m. interment. Full military honors presented by the United States Honor Guard. Pallbearers: nephews, Bob Hensley, and Mickey Franklin. Ailor Mortuary, Maynardville, in charge of arrangements.
