MOSTELLA, MALINDA STAFFORD - age 92, of Knoxville, departed this life, Saturday, October 4, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a lifetime member of the Chestnut Ridge Community. Faithful and active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for over seventy years, where she served in many capacities. She taught upholstery for many years in Knoxville City Schools and was an active participant at the John T. O'Connor Senior Citizens Center. Preceded in death by husband, Joe Mostella brother, Clarence Stafford sisters, Ethel Kennedy, Emma Saunders and Alberta Atkins nephew, Charles J. Atkins nieces, Alease Black and Delores Johnson, and great nephew, Anthony Johnson. Survivors: nephew, Harry (Beverly) Atkins step son, Hilton Mostella nephews, Sidney (Linda) Atkins, Steven (Teresa) Atkins, both of Riverdale, Md., Cortes Burkes, Richardo Armstrong, both of Detroit, Mich., James (Randy) Atkins of Knoxville, Tenn., and Thurman Ector of Memphis, Tenn. great nieces, Sandra (Terry) Howard of Riverdale, Ga., Linda K. Stafford of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Deborah (Michael) Gayles of Stone Mountain, Ga., Aquilla Hopkins of Detroit, Mich., Alberta Cowan of Knoxville, Tenn., Elenora Atkins of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lisa Atkins of Antioch, Tenn. very devoted friend and caregiver, Nurse Alice Jones several loyal friends and a host of relatives and church family. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, funeral service 2:00 p.m., Rev. Leroy Franklin, officiating. Interment in Highland South Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
