She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Retired school teacher who taught in schools located in Sevier, Jefferson, and Washington County. Preceded in death by Son, Rick Ownby. Survivors: Husband of 64 years Euel Ownby; Daughter and Son-in-law, Rebecca O. and David G. McCarty; Grandchildren, Grant McCarty and Katy Johnson; Great-granddaughter, Evie Johnson; Numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Valley View Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Smoky or Valley View Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center for their care and concern.
