He departed this life May 19, 2001 at UT Medical Center. He attended Knoxville Public Schools, McMillan and Green Elementary School, Vine Jr. High School and Austin High School. Preceded in death by father, Curtis McClure; grandmother, Juanita McMillan ; brother, Devine McMillan ; sister, Peola Sims. Robert leaves to rejoice his homecoming three sons, Marcus Wilson, Eugene Mitchell and Christopher; one daughter, Kim Byrd; devoted mother, Helen L. McMillan ; two brothers, Cecil (Thelma) McMillan and Herbert (Sandra) McMillan , of Knoxville; one sister, Elsie I. (Walter) Walker, of S.C.; seven grandchildren; four nieces, Darla, Crystal, Farrah and Teanna; four nephews, Cecil, Jr., Jarfar, Herbert, Jr., all of Knoxville, and James, of Ohio; three grand nieces; one grand nephew; two aunts, Ethel McMillan and Arnine Smith, all of Knoxville; one devoted step-sister, Martha Brown, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Unity Mortuary Chapel from 2:30-3 p.m., with funeral service to follow, Rev. Steve Simpson, officiating. Interment in Mt. View Cemetery. Arrangements by Unity Mortuary.
