Mary Jean Chambers Lennon age 81, of Reidsville, NC died Saturday Oct. 16, 2010 at her home. A native of Maryville, TN she was a daughter of the late Jesse Cloyd and Zena Meldona Myers Chambers and she had lived in Reidsville for the past 39 years. She retired as a Finance Clerk from the City of Reidsville in 1995, was a member of Baptist Temple Church of Reidsville, NC where she served as Financial Secretary for 30 years and was recognized for her service in 2006. Mrs. Lennon was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1963. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed watching birds and playing the piano. Mrs. Lennon was preceded in death by four brothers: Claude Edward Chambers, Clifford Sloan Chambers, Odis Russell Chambers, and J. C. Chambers Jr. Surviving is her husband, William Jackson “Jack” Lennon; Son, William Jackson “Bill” Lennon Jr. & wife Rebecca Cox Lennon of Wake Forest, NC; Daughter, Kelli E. Lennon of Reidsville, NC; Brothers, Ollie Houston Chambers of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth Ray Chambers of Rockford, TN; Sisters, Beulah B. Chambers Jett of Rockford, TN, Mabel E. Chambers Hill Bradbury of Powhatan, VA, and Clara Leola Chambers Austin of Knoxville, TN; 3 Grandchildren, Rachel Kathryn Lennon, William Jackson Lennon III, & Caleb Lee Lennon all of Wake Forest, NC; Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Central Point Baptist Church, 3617 Central Point Rd., Rockford, TN. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
