Dina Kaye Patty Brennan, age 60, of Gatlinburg went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Seymour, TN and was a member of Mountain View Church of God. Kaye worked for 27 years with her sister at McKinney's Market in Gatlinburg. She loved to hike and sew and has won many awards for her quilts. She loved family dinners and big gatherings. Kaye was loved and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglass Eugene Brennan; her father, Kenneth Eugene Patty; and her grandfather, Otha Wilson "Red" Smelcer.
Kaye is survived by her mother, Lula Bell Latham; grandmother, Eva Pearl Smelcer; son, BJ Withrow and wife, Emily, and their children: Lily, Schaeffer, Griffin, Charlotte, and Jordan; daughter, LeeAnn Cate and her husband, Jamie, and their daughter, Ciera Johnson; her twin sister, Faye McKinney and husband, Dale; sister, Delorse Vess and husband, George; brothers, Gene Patty and wife, Donna, Curtis Patty and wife, Brenda; nieces and nephews, Robert Vess, Genia Poppewell, and Crystal Hope.
The family wishes to thank UT Hospital and UT Cancer Institute for all their love and support during her battle. A very special thanks to her "sisters" at McKinney's Market for all they have done while Kaye was sick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
