McCAULLEY , JOHNNIE EARL - age 85, of Maryville, passed away Friday evening, June 4, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mr. McCaulley was born December 5, 1913, and was one of the late descendants of Cades Cove. He enjoyed relating the history of the Cove to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruthie Myers McCaulley ; sisters, Anna Lee Coulter, Vicie Tipton, Icyle Gregory; infant sister, Mae McCaulley ; brothers, Freeland and Millard McCaulley . Survivors: devoted wife of 59 years, Willie Garner McCaulley ; sons and daughters-in-law, Sonny and Judy McCaulley of Maryville, Johnny and Onita McCaulley of Maryville; daughters, Mary Ruth Millsaps of Townsend, Sherry McCaulley and Becky McCaulley Williams, both of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Jim Hatcher of Maryville, Patricia and Ronald Abbott of Maryville, Linda and Mick Humphrey of Walland and Colette and Gary Williamson of Walland; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons; sister, Mayme Tipton of Townsend; brother, J.C. McCaulley of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, 1999, at Piney Level Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. George Macht officiating.
