Gerldean Waters, age 72, of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. She fed everybody, even the sick that she may not have known. She loved to cook and entertain her family and friends on Sunday afternoons. Her coconut cakes were her specialty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Autie and John Ira Cooper; husband, James (Waterdawg) Arnold; son, Chris Waters; and grandson, David Brian Keller. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Keller, Donna Sweet, and Kim Waters; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Linda Waters; special sons and friends, Jerry Russell, Jack Russell, James Keeble, Josh Hughes, and their families; grandchildren, Jamie (Jason) Pickens, Kristi (Red) Keller, Jeremy (Anna) Keeble, Coty (DJ) Waters, and Megan Waters; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Christian, Meado, Mason, Hunter, Cade, and Cooper; sisters, Irma Lequire, Louise Boone, Unav Pilkington, and Odell Huffstetler; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is loved and missed by all. Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel with the interment service to follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Arkie Baker and Rev. Dale Buchanon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
