Harold Bohanan, 73, of Palatka, Fla., passed away suddenly, Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of Knox County, Tennessee, he resided in Putnam County for 57 years, coming from Tennessee. Harold was the owner of Bohanan Construction. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church while in Tennessee and the Church of God of Prophecy in Palatka. He was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and an avid NASCAR fan. Harold also enjoyed watching televangelist, Jimmy Swaggart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ilene Bohanan; a sister, Aledda Hockaday; and a grandson, Beau Lee Elliott.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Bohanan of Palatka; his 3 daughters, Malinda Smith (Mike) of Grandin, Jill Elliott (Ken) and Jeanette Perry (Jeff), all of Palatka; his 3 sons, Timmy Bohanan of Interlachen, Jesse Bohanan (Janice) of Palatka, and Billy Bohanan (Candace) of Hollister; a brother, Ray Bohanan of Hollister; 6 sisters, Juanita Latham of Seymour, TN, Linda Croft of Thomasville, GA, Pam Boles of Hollister, Betty Joe Evans of Knoxville, TN, and Mark Markel and Sherry Driggers, both of Palatka; grandchildren, Angel Siverling, T.J. Bohanan, Josh Bohanan, Ashlie Becker, Kyle Smith, Shelly Rayburn, Randi Revels, Tylor Elliott, Kaala Griffis, Jordan Perry, Logan Perry, Jammie Arnau, Cassidy Arnau, Josie Bohanan, Nathan Bohanan and Lauren Bohanan; and great-grandchildren, Elissa Siverling, Kaleb Siverling, Bryce Siverling, Hayden Becker, Kyleigh Bohanan, Kenlee Rayburn, Brantley Griffis, Jace Harold Griffis and Tucker Allen Revels.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 22,2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Derrell Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Church of God of Prophecy, 6727 Crill Ave. in Palatka.
