Wilce Maples age 78 a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the family residence. Mr. Maples was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church where he previously served as Sunday School teacher and church treasurer. He was also ordained as a deacon in 1983. He was previously employed with World Carpets in Dalton GA., with many years of service and from there became a poultry farmer from which he retired. He was the son of the late James and Ruth Maples and was also preceded in death by his brothers Issac, Glenn, Gene and Frank Maples and by his sisters Pauline Scarbrough and Guilda Reagan. Mr. Maples loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carolyn Maples his children and their spouses Candy and Keith Lowe, Cinda and Chris Jerfie, Randy and Susan Maples all of Cleveland, Bryan and Michelle Maples of Chattanooga, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters Joyce Phillips of Chatsworth and Carol Brown of Cleveland, brothers James Maples and his wife Joyce of Downers Grove ILL., Tom Maples, George and Shirley Maples all of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held 2pm Friday January 18, 2013 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Marvin Carr and Rev. Roy Tatum officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Cemetery with Guinn Stinnett, Doyle Beard, Justin Maples, David Scott, Kevin Brown and Drew Maples Wright serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
