Rick Banks, age 46, of Newport, died at his home on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. He was well known in Newport as an electrician, having taken over the family business in 2001. Mr. Banks was forced into retirement in 2006 when a work related accident left him disabled. His father, Charles “Booty” Banks, and grandparents, Lloyd and Della Banks preceded Rick in death. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Banks, of Newport; daughter, Amber Bohanna of Sevierville; and niece, Nickie Raines of Cosby. His survivors also include special “virtual” relatives, brother, Todd Allen, Wayne Rankins, Ray Trowell, Shane Toby and their families; and stepsons Dustin Rankins, John Trowell and Jacen Valentine. A private memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manes Funeral Home to cover the expenses for interment.
