MCELHANEY, JAMES (DONNIE) - age 58 of Bean Station passed from this life at his home, September 13, 2010, with his family by his side after a year long battle with lung cancer. He was a member of Helton Springs Baptist Church, and had attended in past years, Riverview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Monnie McElhaney; and brothers, Julius and Tommy McElhaney. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Patty McElhaney; sons, Jason McElhaney of Morristown and Justin McElhaney of Bean Station; brother, Billy McElhaney of Rutledge; sisters, Shelby (Jimmy) McCarter of Jefferson City, Judy (Jim) Sands of Rutledge; sister-in-law, Patsy McElhaney of Blaine; father and mother-in-law, Andy and Polly Long of Bean Station; brother-in-law, David (Gracie) Long of Bean Station; nieces and nephews, Lenee Grubb, Angel (Shaun) Strange, Mitzi (Toby) Cornett, Debbie Watson, Cindy Woody, Michael McCarter, Marcus (Julie) Long, Michael (Misty) Long; several great nieces and nephews; special friends, Delmas Atkins and Ricky Spoon. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. September 14, 2010 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with Rev. Terry Winstead officiating. Graveside services will be 11;00 A.M. Wednesday in Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening prior to services at the funeral home.
