Lucille Jenkins, age 82 of Newport passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Newport Health and Rehab. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Newport. She was retired from Ace Products.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bartley and Barbara Jenkins; brothers, Jim, Austin, Roy, Raymond and Cecil Jenkins; sisters, Gladys Worley, Nellie Mae Holt and Emma Jean Harrah.
She is survived by two nephews who she helped raise, Roger Jenkins and Stevie McMahan of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Jenkins of Newport, who was her care givers; sister, Margaret Andrews of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and J.R. Boles of Greeneville, also host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Randy Justice officiating.
Interment will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Union Cemetery.
