HAMILTON John W. (Jack) Hartnagel , 61, died Saturday at his home, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. He was previously employed by Brauninger News for 37 years and was retired from the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury.
Mr. Hartnagel was active in the Special Olympics as a Bocce coach for Area II - Mercer County. He loved to fish and collected lighthouses. He was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing games of chance.
Mr. Hartnagel was the son of the late John and Susan Anderson Hartnagel and son-in-law of the late Emily Kish Jones. He was a loving husband of 39 years to his surviving wife, Anne Hartnagel ; a dedicated father to his two daughters, Emily and her husband Michael Dunn and Suzi Hartnagel , all of Trenton; and a devoted grandfather to his grandson, Ciro J. Silvestri III, known affectionately to his grandfather as Bud. He is also survived by his special niece, Dori DeLeeuw of Trenton; his brother Thomas Hartnagel of Hamilton and his sister, Carol and her husband Richard DeLeeuw of Seymour, TN; along with many nieces and nephews.
Office of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Kutch Funeral Home, 215 Grand St., Trenton with Fr. Gregory J. Noga as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery #2 in Hamilton.
Relatives and friends may share their condolences with the family Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m.
