WATSON, ROSIE HOWARD - 86, beloved wife, mother, & friend passed away on August 24, 2010 after a brief stay at St. Mary's (Mercy) Resident Hospice in Halls. Mrs. Watson grew up in Harriman, TN. When her late husband, Doyal E. Watson, returned from World War II, Rockwood, TN became their "hometown." Mrs. Watson was a faithful and devoted servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Until her health no longer allowed, she was an active member of the Church of Christ, teaching Sunday school & involved in benevolent projects-always listening & helping others. She was also a member of the Roane Choral Society. Preceding her in death, parents, Madison and Dicie (Ball) Howard; sisters, Bertha Kersey, Mabell Daniels, Sally Kate Alexander, Mary Jane Gamble; brothers, Elder Howard, Orville Howard, Wendell Howard, Roy Howard, Estel Howard; devoted husband of 67 years, Doyal E. Watson & daughter, Linda Watson Matthews. Survivors include; son Jimmie Watson (Diane) of Rockwood, TN; daughters Sharon Fontana (Bob) of Crossville, TN, Kat Eldridge (Bill) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Kitty Watson Honeycutt (Brian), Keith Watson, Kristi Gibson Johnson (Keith), Amy Gibson, Adam Matthews, Seth Matthews (Brenda), Eric Lingerfelt (Kelly), Clint Lingerfelt (Misty), great-grandchildren Libby Honeycutt, Patrick Honeycutt, Andy Watson, Isaac Watson, Amanda Reed, Becca Johnson, Sidney Matthews, Michael Gibson, Steve Parker, Alara Lingerfelt brothers Leonard Howard of Florida, Madison (Bud) Howard of North Carolina; sister Polly Richardson of Harriman, TN. The family expresses their deep appreciation to caregiver and friend, Wilma Scott of Knoxville, TN, for her physical, emotional and spiritual support over the past 11 months. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 1 - 2 pm at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, TN. Funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Ernest Abston officiating. Burial and interment will follow the service at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.
