(July 23, 1947 - February 28, 2012) U.S. Veteran Franklin Ray “Bud” Vance, Sr., age 64, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at his home. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Vance; parents, Ray Vance and Lucy Presley; brother, Billy Vance; sisters, Betty Garland and Faye “Tootsie” Suttles; and father-in-law, John Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Janice Vance; sons, Frank Vance, Jr. and David Hodge; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Pearson and Jenny and Dustin Tipton; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Austin and Debbie Vance, Jimmy and Dina Vance, Calvin and Angie Vance, and Roger Vance; sisters, Donna Crotser, Barbara Harrison, and Bobbie Eason; sister-in-law, Ginger Vance; uncle, Don Vance; and lots of nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Friends may call at their convenience at the family home.
