FORD, DONALD DEMPSEY - 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 in a local hospital. Mr. Ford had lived in Chattanooga over 45 years. He was a truck driver for 34 years working for ET & WNC and retiring from Consolidated Freightways. He was a Community Member of First Wesleyan Church and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a member of Daisy Masonic Lodge # 706, past Master and Secretary Emeritus of Whorley Lodge #601, Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Amaranth of Tennessee and Royal Patron of Christina Court #4, Order of the Amaranth. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Verla Ford sister, Annette Atchley and brother, J. C. Ford, all of Knoxville. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Virginia Ford daughter, Lea Ann Smalley, Cleveland sons, Gordon Anderson Ford, Mark McPherson Ford, Chattanooga six grandchildren three great grandchildren sisters, Elizabeth Arnett, Billie Sue (W. C.) Morgan brother, Fred Ford, all of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent at www.heritagefh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 7725 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421 or Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, c/o David Somers, P O Box 4396, Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37831-4396. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 21, 2005 in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Masonic Service conducted by Daisy Masonic Lodge #706. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM.
