RAINWATER , JOANN (GALYEAN) NEWMAN born June 23, 1930, passed into eternity Sunday December 23rd at her home surrounded by her loving family. She fought a courageous battle against ovarian cancer after being diagnosed in late January this year. Ms. Rainwater was an active member of First Baptist Church of Powell and a member of Women on a Mission and the Titus Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her parents Taylor William and Nettie Bea Galyean, husband of 30 years, Harry C. Rainwater and her first husband and father of her four children, William I. Newman Sr. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Debra Jo and T R Housley, Judith Lynn and Tom Hausmann, and Jacqueline Ann Newman; son William (Bill) (Ikey) Newman Jr. and his fiancée Patty Maybray; grandchildren Julie Faye, Morgan Hausmann Lee, Lorraine Hausmann, Brandon Hampton, Brad Newman, Michael Hausmann, Tommy Housley, and Taylor Herd; great grandchildren Christopher Faye, Brandon Will Hampton, Uriah Hausmann, Noah Diver, Hunter Diver, and Nathan Newman. Celebration of life service will be 8:00 pm Friday December 28, 2007, at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Pastor Phil Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at Halls Memory Garden at 10:45 am Saturday for an 11:00 am graveside service. The family has ask in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for Research Only . Family will receive friends 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
