Oma Fay Lane , of McGregor, died late Monday morning, Feb. 6, 2012, at the age of 92. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lane was born May 3, 1919, in Gatesville, Texas, the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Nellie (Love) Bond . She received her education in Gatesville and Bellmead. On July 21, 1935, she married Tommie D. Lane in Waco, Texas. After 57 years of marriage, he preceded her in death April 3, 1993.
Mrs. Lane was a long time McGregor resident who was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church where she taught the Ladies Bible Class. She enjoyed gardening and growing African Violets.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Thomas Bond and Arlis Bond ; and an infant sister, Ona Mae Bond .
Survivors include two sons, Don Lane and wife, Mary, and Harold Lane and wife, Billie; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
