U.S. Veteran Tracey Treamon Rathbone, age, 74, of Bybee, passed away Friday, June 2, at the V.A. Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. He was owner of Hayes Hill Café of Bybee and a decorated veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Etta Parton Rathbone, brother, Charles Rathbone, and sister, Edith Church. He is survived by his wife, Irene Hayes Rathbone; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Jewell Rathbone; daughter and son-in-law, Randa Toyette and Mark Van Balen; granddaughter, Amy Rathbone; great-grandson, Isley; sisters, Meadie Kathley of Easley, South Carolina, Leestia Putschky of Baltimore, Maryland, Hilda and husband Walter Morris of Pickens, South Carolina; brothers, Robert (Nevitt) Rathbone of Mooresville, North Carolina and Clyde Rathbone of Mt. Ulla, North Carolina; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Cecil Buckner, Pauline Hayes, Sue and T. J. Dwason, Juanita and Ruble McAmis, Beulah and Buck Ramsey, Mary Jane Brewster, Betty McAmis, Mack Hayes, Anna and John Pearson, and George and Diana Hayes; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral Services will be held ,8:00 pm Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Hayes and Rev. Glenn Ball officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Monday, June 5, 2006 in Hayes Cemetery, with L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites. Pallbearers will be Buster Gray, Fred Douglas, Ronnie Rathbone, Clyde D. Johnson, George McAmis, Cecil Buckner, Denny Hayes and Joe Clark. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
