Cecil (Clabo) Rayfield, 81, a resident of Cashmere and the upper Wenatchee Valley and a former resident of Sevierville, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 in the Cashmere Convalescent Center.She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Worley Clabo.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and David Nierman of Dryden; son and daughter-in-law, Oliver John and Hazel Rayfield of Wenatchee; four grandchildren and their spouses, Beth Nierman and Torrance Schmidt of Wenatchee, Douglas and Marit Nierman of Santa Rosa, Calif., Andrew and Tishangela Nierman of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Crystal and Brent Corbaley of Cashmere; four great grandchildren, Danielle and Elyssa Corbaley, Dane Schmidt and Gwyneth Nierman; four step daughters, Marie (Blaine) Hurst of Sevierville, Avis (Owen) Higginbotham of Peshastin, Lillie Mae (George Young) Franklin of Cashmere and Wilda (Jim) Ward of Leavenworth; 10 stepgrandchildren and 22 stepgreatgrandchildren.Funeral services were Monday, June 23 in the Mid-Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Ross officiating. Concluding service and interment followed at the Cashmere City Cemetery.

Cecil Rayfield , 81, a resident of Cashmere and a 52 year resident of the Wenatchee Valley, died Sunday afternoon, June 15 2003, in the Cashmere Convalescent Center.
She was born Cecil Clabo on February 01 1922 to Marion Wesley and Hulda Elizabeth (Franklin) Clabo at Caney Creek, Sevier County, Tennessee, where she grew up.
On November 09, 1945 she married Oliver Henry Rayfield at Smokey, Tennessee In 1951 they moved to Leavenworth and in 1952 to Peshastin.
Cecil sorted fruit at Peshastin Fruit Growers from 1955 until 1968. She then moved to Cashmere, where she worked at the Cashmere Fruit Exchange for 25 years. She also sorted cherries at Northern Fruit and later Chief Wenatchee, during the summers, in Wenatchee for 40 years.
Cecil was a member of the Foothills Four Square Church in Wenatchee. She enjoyed quilting, walking, traveling, going to sporting events and concerts with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and David Nierman of Dryden. Son and daughter-in-law, Oliver John and Hazel Rayfield of Wenatchee. Four grandchildren and their spouses, Beth Nierman and Torrance Schmidt of Wenatchee; Douglas and Marit Nierman of Santa Rosa, California; Andrew and Tishangela Nierman of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Crystal and Brent Corbaley of Cashmere. Four grandchildren, Danielle and Elyssa Corbaley; Dane Schmidt and Gwyneth Nierman. Four step daughters, Marie (Blaine) Hurst of Sevierville, Tennessee; Avis (Owen) Higginbotham of Peshastin; Lillie Mae (George Young) Franklin of Cashmere and Wilda (Jim) Ward of Leavenworth. 10 step grandchildren; 22 step great grandchildren; and 2 nieces, Donna Clabo of Cashmere and Della Myers of Newport, Tennessee.
A Funeral Service of Commemoration will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, June 23, 2003 in the Mid Valley Baptist Church, 1 Frontage Road, Dryden, WA , with Pastor Brian Ross, officiating. Concluding Service and interment will follow in the Cashmere City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Foothills Four Square Church Youth Group, 315 S. Mission; Wenatchee, WA 98801. Those wishing to make visitation may call at the Ward's Funeral Chapel, Saturday and Sunday (June 21 and 22) between 2 and 8 p.m. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
