BURKHART, LILLIAN (CLEMONS) - age 95 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2005. She was a member of Union Baptist Church for many years. Preceded in death by husband, Leo Burkhart son, Kenneth Burkhart stepdaughters, Marjorie Burkhart and Mona Walker parents, Robert and Kate Clemons sisters, Celia Dykes, Ann Walls and Vadia Vargas brothers, R.L. and Jim Clemons. Survivors include sons and wives, John and Barbara Burkhart of Bulls Gap, Shannon and Cloteal Burkhart of Knoxville, Robert and Elsie Burkhart of Powell son, David Burkhart of Corryton daughter and husband, Travis and Bill Beeler of Knoxville daughter, Mary Kate Foster of Mascot several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren like a daughter, Bobbie Widner two best friends, Mildred Carr and Naomi Farmer. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Union Baptist Church on Washington Pike with Rev. John Thomerson and Rev. Craig Cummings officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers will be Sherman Widner, Junior Farmer, Jim Fox, Emerson Shipe, Thane Daniels, and Dale Burress. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church prior to the funeral service. Serving the family: Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
