WOODARD, IRENE T. - daughter of Stonewall and Sallie B. Thompson was born in Eufaula, Ala. on August 6, 1925 and she departed this life on Sunday, December 12, 1999 at her home. She came to Christ at an early age and joined Mount Calvary Church in Eufaula, Ala. Irene was preceded in death by father and mother, Stonewall and Sallie B. Thompson; husband, James E. Woodard, and 3 sisters, Carrie Treater, Lilliam Jenkins and Eula Mae Stewart; one brother, Willie Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Cecil Stonewall Woodard; 5 daughters, Dorothy A., Yarbrough, Carolyn J. Woodard, LaVerna Hall, Inetta R. Jackson and Della L. Woodard, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Lucinda Johnson of Eufaula, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to include devoted friends, P.J. DuBose, Sam Martin, Mrs. Brown and Martha (Quil)Brown. She fought a good fight, kept the faith and now she has gone to be with God and the family. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 1999 at Unity Mortuary Chapel from 2-2:30 p.m. with the funeral follow. Rev. Richard Brown, officiating. Interment at New Gray Cemetery.
