(SLIM) - age 84 passed away at home on July 17, 2010 after a short illness. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ella Mae Dunaway Widner and his daughter, Vesta Widner. Survivors; sons and daughters-in-law, V. L. Jr. and Prayonk Widner, Henry and Sharon Widner, Carl and Sarah Widner; daughter, Gail Dunaway. He has 7 grandchildren; Rick Widner, Colt and Katie Widner, Teresa, Rose and Angela Dunaway, Michael Ethridge and wife Camarilla; brother-in-law, James Dunaway and wife Barbara; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Dunaway, Geneva Dunaway and Marie Dunaway; many special cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Monday, July 19, 2010 in the chapel of Weaver Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm with the service at 8:00 pm. Rev. Don Hubbard will be officiating.
