Billy Dalton Jr., age 75 of Knoxville took God’s hand and went home Saturday, September 24, 2011. He was a humble, faithful child of God that devoted his life to his family. He worked many years peddling cookies for Ms. Alison’s Cookie Co. to provide for his family eventually retiring from Averitt Express after many dedicated years. He is known and loved for his kindness, compassion and sense of humor. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and was a devoted and loving husband, father and pappy. Bill was a friend to everyone and always had a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie C. and Dorothy Jenkins Dalton, brother, Jimmy Dalton, and uncle Hoover Jenkins
Survivors:
Wife: Tippie Clinton Dalton
Son: Scott Dalton
Daughters and sons-in-law: Tammie Dalton Dischner and husband Jack, Lori Dalton Cooper and husband Jim
Grandchildren: Clint Dischner, Matthew Dischner, Scotty Cooper, and Connor Cooper
Special friends know who they are, his Averitt golfing buddies he loved dearly, childhood friends Junior Slimp and Bobby Lawson
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Herschel Dyke officiating . Family and friends will meet 11 AM Wednesday in Eastview Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment.
