ROGERS , JOSEPH EDWARD (BUDDY) - age 82 of LaFollette, began his eternal life in Heaven on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab Center. Buddy was a lifelong member of LaFollette United Methodist Church, where he was a faithful songleader and member of the Joy Class. He joined the Army-Air Force in October 1943, and was a member of the 675th division, which was known as the "Dauntless Demons". His squadron spent most of their service in the South West Pacific. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1983. Preceded in death by: parents, Judge Jesse L. & Fannie Alexander Rogers brothers, infant, Paul Rogers and David B. Rogers . Survivors: loving wife of 58 years, Dottie Wender Rogers daughters & sons-in-law, Cathy Hunter of LaFollette, Connie & Jerry Taylor of Clinton, Jill & Tim Oris of LaFollette brother, Ben Rogers and sister, Jessie Mitchell, both of LaFollette grandchildren, Joey Hunter, Jessica Taylor, Andrew Taylor & Reid Sharp great-grandson Logan Hunter. Please join his family to celebrate his life and the joyful times they shared on Tuesday, May2nd, from 6 to 8 p.m. at LaFollette United Methodist Church with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m., Rev. David Blondell & Rev. Danny Hensley officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Don Thomas, Rev. Danny Hensley and Military Honors by the Campbell Co. Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Mickey Sharp, nephews Eddie, Roger & Jeff Mitchell, Mike, Jim & Jim Rogers , Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: member of his Joy Class. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette.
