Horner, Herbert Edmund (Herbie), age 49, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Herbie graduated from South Young High School in 1979 and went to Roane State and Tennessee Tech on baseball scholarships. Herbie was a loving, loyal husband of 22 years to Kelly Barbee Horner, and a devoted loving father to daughters Kate and Haley. Herbie leaves behind father and mother, Joe and Kay Horner and extended family members. Herbie had a host of loving and loyal friends that the family are very grateful for. His wife and daughters will have a memorial and celebration of life service at Stock Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Gene Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Berry Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs.
