Dorothy (Pie) Tate, of Maryville, is rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She departed her earthly home June 22, 2010, in Bartlett, Tenn. Preceded in death by grandparents, Joe (Ruth) Tate and Kenneth (Pearl) Brabson; great-grandparents, Roosevelt (Savvannah) Manuel and Vera Baker. Survivors: loving mother, JoAnn (Ray) Cantrell; father, Ricky Lee Baker; sisters, Latasha Goss, Lakishia Goss, Savannah Cantrell and Rachelle Cantrell; brothers, Michael Tate, Benjamin Goss Jr. and Jeremiah Cantrell; aunts, Adlaide Tate and Iris Brabson; uncles, Willie (Renee) Tate, Luther Tate, Melvin Tate, Frank Tate and Richard Tate; great-uncle, Benjamin Manuel; devoted family friend, Peggy (Jack) Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 5 p.m. at St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church, Alcoa, with a celebration of life service at 5:30 p.m., followed by a balloon release ceremony.
