Calfee, Sr, age 93, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. He was a member of McCowan Church of God since 1956. He retired from American ENKA with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Philippine Island. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Pearl Holdway Calfee; parents, James Kite and Paralee Brady Calfee; brothers and sisters, Nannie Bea Moore, Gertha Moore, Glen “Doc” Calfee, Kiley Calfee and Mae Cameron. He is survived by his son, Buford, Jr. (Linda Calfee); grandson, Bradford (Melissa) Calfee; granddaughter, Cassandra Vinson (Justin); greatgrandchildren, Sarah, Ruthie, Brady, Mercy Calfee and Kylie Vinson; special friend, Roberta; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Special “thank you” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2016 with funeral services following at 7:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Jon Sims and Pastor Steve Hess officiating.
