EDDS, DR. JUDY CUPP was carried into the arms of God on September 28, 2010. She fought a long, courageous battle against cancer and won today. Judy had a passion for helping people and teaching students about providing superior health care with compassion for the person, not the patient. She was an instructor at LMU and had worked in primary care and public health for many years. She received her nursing degree from ETSU, Masters from UT, and Doctorate from ETSU. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Cupp; infant brother Brian; grandparents, Frank and Lassie Cupp and Newt and Myrtle Smith; father-in-law, Tommy Edds and sister-in-law Shirley Buchanan. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Charles; son & daughter-in-law, Christopher and Sherry Edds; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Bailey; grandsons that she adored, Wesley and James Tyler Edds, Kyle Bailey and Nicky Smith all of Tazewell. Mother, Marion Cupp; mother-in-law, Grace Edds; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Pamela Cupp; sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Keven Nester all of Morristown, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Special thanks to Matthew Gent for his kindness and support during this difficult time. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. Friday night, October 1, 2010 at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 8:00 P.M. Friday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning at the Liberty Cemetery. Ministers: Rev. William Boyd Bingham and Rev. Lonnie Douglas Dalton. Singers, Clark & Zella Nunn, Karen Hurst and Old Liberty Baptist Church Youth Choir.
