(May 19, 1940 - April 8, 2010) U.S. Veteran Carroll David Shoemaker, age 69, of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was the son of the late Lem and Maggie Helton Shoemaker. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald and Henry Shoemaker, Gene Shoemaker and wife Beulah; and mother-in-law, Ruby Blackwell. He is survived by his wife Patsy; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll Jr. and Pauline; daughter, Patty; grandson, Dalton; sister, Emma Kate Messer; brother-in-law, Henry Messer; sister-in-law, Eula Mae Shoemaker; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Friday, April 9, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tom Moody officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday April 10, 2010 in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Wayne and Roger Butler, Randy, Terry and Rodney Messer, James Sutton, Doug Shoemaker and Billy Shelton, honorary pallbearers will be the men of Antioch Baptist Church.
