SLAGLE, EVA BEATRICE (BEA) ELDER - age 82 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born August 27, 1921 in Jefferson County. Mrs. Slage was of the Baptist faith, a homemaker, and had retired from Dollar General Stores. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude A. Slagle parents, Samuel D. and Elsie French Elder sisters, Belinda Pratt, Ruth Pruitt, and Orpah Lowe brothers, Sam Elder, Jr. and Austin Elder and nephews, Darryl Cox and Gerald Lowe. Mrs. Slagel is survived by: her daughter & son-in-law, Claudia & Joe Walsh son, Dennie E. Slagle granddaughters, Anna Leah Wolfenbarger and Katie Walsh sisters & brothers-in-law, Viva & Jim Ault, Gay & Ellis Cox sister-in-law, Carolyn Elder brother-in-law, Ralph Pratt all of Knoxville nephews, Gary Cox, Scott Ault, Perry Pratt, Bryan & Scott Elder nieces, Ann Elder, Debra Sawyer, Penny Searcy, & Terri Hall special friends, Jeff, Dowell, & Myrna Wolfenbarger, Dorothy Tarwater, Linda & Jimmy Whaley. Thanks to all the staff at NHC, St. Mary's and special thanks to the 3rd floor staff present and past for the loving care that they gave our mother. Family and friends will meet at Union Cemetery on Washington Pike Monday for a 1:00 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers: Gary Cox, Scott Ault, Perry Pratt, Bryan & Scott Elder and Jeff Wolfenbarger. Honorary pallbearers: Dowell Wolfenbarger & Jimmy Whaley. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
