LOWE, ORPAH MAE ELDER - age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday August 3, 1999 at her home. She was a member of Tennessee Ave. Baptist Church, Ruth Sunday school class and the WMU. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Lowe; parents, Sam and Elsie French Elder; brother, Sam Elder; sisters, Belinda Pratt and Ruth Pruitt; and nephew, Darryl Cox. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Gerald C. and Carrol Lowe; grandson, Gerald Charles Lowe and wife, Regina; brother, Austin Elder; sisters, Gay Cox, Viva Ault, Beatrice Slagle; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, Rev. Ronald Guthrie and Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment service at 11 a.m. Pallbearers: nephews, Gary Cox, Perry Pratt, Scott Ault, Denny Slagle, Brian and Stanley Elder.
