(October 16, 1944 - February 16, 2006) U.S. Veteran Daniel Douglas Campbell, age 61, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2006 at Mountain View Assisted Living in Loudon County. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joe and Minnie Campbell; brothers Jack and Arnold “Skeets” Campbell; sister, Joan Heaton; brothers-in-law, Harold S. Walker and Arnold Nichols; and sister-in-law, Mary Campbell. He is survived by his brother, Joe “Dutch” Campbell of Maryville; sister, Gerry Walker of Hickory, North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Harrisson Hatcher, Shelba and Bill Watts all of Maryville, and Patricia and Eric Chambers of Friendsville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:30 PM Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Harrison Hill officiating. Interment service will be 11:00 AM Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Military honors provided by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (www.millerfuneralhome.org)
