CLAPP, CHESTER CLAY "CHET" - 78, died May 28, 2010. Born in Corryton, Tennessee, 1931. Preceded by parents: Ion and Edna; brothers and their spouses: George "Ross," (Lorraine), James (Mildred); sister and spouse: Geneva (Bill) Butler; brothers-in-law John Beeler, James Lester and J. Will Rogers; infant son, Chester Clay, Jr.; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fernely and Zola Satterfield. Survived by wife, Wanda; son, Steve, both of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Angela (Brad) Northcutt, and grandson, Braden Zimmerman, all of Yukon, Oklahoma; brother, David "Red" (Martha), Corryton; sisters: Agnes Beeler, Knoxville; Willie Lester, Chattanooga; Ina Clapp, Corryton; sister-in-law, Dossie Rogers, West Palm Beach, Florida. Chester worked at KUB after graduating from Gibbs High School. He had been a Master Mason at Corryton Lodge #321 since 1957. He served four years in the United States Air Force in Alaska and the Pentagon. Married in 1955 in Corryton, to Wanda Tindell. Moved to Miami, Florida in 1958 where he owned two service stations. While still living in Florida he went to work for Nationwide Trailer Rentals which was headquartered in Wichita, where he worked his way up to president. Retired from United Parcel Service in 1992. Worked part time for Enterprise Car Rental Company for 14 years. Memorial services in Tennessee at a later date.
