Mattie Louise Suits Whaley, age 67, of Cohutta, passed away, Thursday, May 28, 2008 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Edward Suits and Mary Ruth Suits Bollin; son, Eddie Blair; brother, Odell Suits; and sister, Lorene Bess.
She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Leonard Whaley of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Gary Smith of Tunnel Hill, and Joy and Charlie Roger of Ringgold; step daughter, Peggy Whaley of Cleveland, TN; sons, Danny Blair, Mike Blair, both of Apison,TN., Ricky Blair of Cohutta, and Jeff Blair of Dalton; stepsons and wives, Doyle and Janice Whaley, and Joe and Kim Whaley, both of Cohutta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Jerry Woodham, Sammie and Leroy Stephens, all of Dade City, FL., and Peggy and Rick Sims of Lake Panasoffkee, FL.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Dorothy Suits and Bill Suits, all of Cleveland, TN.; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral is Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Ridley and the Rev. Joe Tomlin officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A white dove release will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.
