Kimberly Diane Raines Sharp, age 47, went home to be with her heavenly father at 10:20 pm on April 20, 2010, after a long courageous battle. She was an active member of New Pleasant Gap Baptist Church and was loved for her kind, gentle spirit. She taught pre-school for many years at Super Kids Learning Center where she touched the lives of many children and families who grew to love her. She was well known for her beautiful singing voice which she used in a family gospel group to sing praises to God. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, the late Rev. Beryl and Bertha Webber and Robert and Eva Raines. She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Michael Sharp; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Acuff; parents, James and Julia Raines; sisters and brother in law, Carol and Sammie Cox and Deborah and Harold Jones. She had a host of nephews, nieces, other family, and dear friends who will forever miss her strength and love of life. The family wishes to express their thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and care givers who gave their best on her behalf and a special thanks to all the dear friends and family who visited, called, and continued to pray for her. Funeral service 2PM Saturday Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. David Walker and Rev. Earl Mays officiating. Burial will follow at New Loyston Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sammie Cox, Tony Cox, Harold Jones, Tommy Jones, Mark Acuff, Drinnon Womble, Robert Butcher and Chris Moore. Family will receive friends 7-9PM Friday Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
