Louise Legg Steele, 78, of Dunbar, went to be with our Lord Jesus, from the home of her daughters in Scott Depot, June 24, 2008.
After a long and courageous battle, she peacefully left this world to enter the gates of heaven to join her loving husband, where together, they will forever worship the King of the universe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mabel Legg, her siblings, Loraine, Mack and Britt Legg and her loving husband, Ken Steele.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Ken Steele and wife, Della, Keith Steele and wife, Judy, Cameron Steele and wife, Lori, Debbie Petry and Dot Sheely. She is also survived by her siblings, and their spouses, Billie and Garland Williams, Don and Rosalie Legg, Oscar and Ella Legg, Sam Legg, Pat Legg, wife of Mack and Charlotte Legg, wife of Britt. She was very close to the sisters of her husband, Opal Mallett, Gaye Steele and Betty Shepherd. Also surviving are her four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
She and her husband attended Maranatha Fellowship in St. Albans where, until her health began to fail, she was active in the “helps” ministry. Louise was always the first to volunteer to supply meals to the sick or grieving. She and her husband lived to give!! Often times, she would empty her cabinets to feed the hungry, and as a perfect host, it was not unusual for her to cook meals for forty family members. She and Ken, owned and operated a daycare in their home and loved children.
She will always be remembered for her piercing blue eyes and for her heart of love for Jesus, her family and for the love of her life, Kenneth.
Join us as we celebrate a life well lived! Funeral services will be at the Maranatha Fellowship in St. Albans, Friday at twelve noon with the Rev. James R. Wright, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Louise by providing a needy family with a meal.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
