LEWIS, MARGARET - 75 of Newport, went to be with her Lord Friday evening, November 1, 2002 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, following a brief illness. Mrs. Lewis was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Whites Grocery Stores after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus A. and Fannie (Gregg) Hayes 1 brother, George Hayes and 2 sisters, Lockey Brown and Ellen Gregg also a granddaughter preceded, Tammie D. Williams. Mrs. Lewis is survived b y her husband of 59 years, Wilbur E. Lewis of the home 1 daughter and son in law, Wanda and Clifford Barnett of Newport 2 sons and 1 daughter in law, Roger and Tammy Lewis of Newport and Charles W. Lewis of Sevierville 1 sister, Trula Truett of Newport 2 sisters in law, and 3 brothers in law, Ruby and T.I. Marion of Newport, Linda and Richard Owens of Newport, Imogene and Roy Soper of Colorado Springs special niece, Betty and A.R. Kyker also of Newport grandchildren, Michael Williams, Regina Turner, Gerae Van Dyke, Jerry L. and Ruth Ann Lewis great grandchildren, Jennifer and Casey Turner, Madelyn and Jaclyn Lewis. The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. November 3, 2002 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Scott Gorrell and Dr. Rich Lloyd officiating. Graveside service will be conducted Monday November 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home has been honored to make final arrangements for Mrs. Margaret Lewis.
