Mrs. Della Haney, of Newport, passed away Tuesday morning, October 25, 2005, at Newport Health and Rehabilitation, formerly Mariner Health of Newport.
She was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Carl Haney; children, George E. Haney, Doyle Haney, Charles (Scooby) Haney, and Ruby J. Haney Keistler; grandchildren, Barbara A. Haney and Paul Baine Jr.; and sisters, Helen Pullman and Becky Wyatt.
Survivors include her children: Sarah Haney Baine and husband, Paul Baine, of S.C.; Gartie Haney Holt and husband, Bartley Holt, of Parrottsville; Dorothy Haney Mooneyham, of Newport; and Carl Junior Haney and wife, Charlene Haney, of Cosby; daughter-in-law, Fay Hale Haney, of Newport; and son-in-law, E.J. Keistler, of Parrottsville.
Della was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Holt, Dora Shetley, Magdalene Martin, all of N.C., and Jane Messer, of Del Rio, and brothers, John Riley Wyatt, of Cosby, and Charlie Wyatt, of N.C.
Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of friends, including her special friends at Newport Health and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Suggs, Rev. Franklin Wines, and Rev. Lynn Henry officiating.
Family and friends will meet at Costner-Maloy at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning to go in procession to Resthaven Mausoleum for the 11:00 a.m. entombment.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Roger Hux, Paul Evans, Jamie Berryhill, Howard Phillips, Randy Haney, Sam Baine, and John David Keistler. Absent honorary pallbearer will be Ronald Lee Haney, absent due to active duty in Iraq.
