CHILDS, FRED "GOAT" - passed away September 2, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born July 1, 1930 in Clinton and was a member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Fred loved spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren and enjoyed time with special friends. He was well loved and will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by wife, Thelma G. (Lamb) Childs; daughter, Debra Dianna Childs; parents, Reece and Nellie (Moore) Childs; son-in-law, Gene McKinney; four brothers and one sister. Survivors: son, Joe Childs and wife Jean; daughters, Betty Ambrose, Susan McKiney; brother, Clyde Childs and wife Barbara; sister, Lorene Davis; grandchildren, Christy Ambrose, Missy Crowe, Joey Childs, Lee Ambrose and Josh McKinney; great-grandchildren, Felicity, Logan, Cody, Emma, Jordan, Kayley, Wyatt, Ayden and Ian. Host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be Monday, September 6, 2010 at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Randy Comer and Pastor Luke Kidwell will be officiating. Graveside service will follow in Batley Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
