Carella Dean Childs, age 66, a resident of Coalfield, and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Childs was born May 13, 1939, in Clinton, Tenn.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a faithful Christian and a member of the Beech Fork Baptist Church in Devonia.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Earl Morrison, and by a granddaughter, Deanna Nichole Childs.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, the Rev. Clyde Childs of Coalfield; parents, Dave and Nadean Morrison of Clinton; daughters, Norma Andrews and husband Clifford Ray of Rockwood, Teresa Jones and husband Terry of Kingston, Tammie Washington and husband Charles Jr. of Clinton; sons, David Clyde Childs and wife Vanessa of Clinton, Ricky Lynn Childs and wife Kathy Lee of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Brenda Church, Melinda Andrews, Leighann Childs, John Paul Jones, David Adam Childs, Brittany Rene, Brandon, and Corey Washington, Sylvia Childs, Savannah Westmoreland; and great-grandchildren, Cassie Timmy, Matthew, Anthony, Hannah, Hayley, Jacob, Deanna, Matthew.
She is also survived by sisters, Linda Anthony and husband Johnny of Clinton, and Mary Shafer of Clinton; brothers, Jack Morrison and Jeanette of Clinton, Jerry Morrison of Clinton, Steve Morrison and wife Pam of Indiana, Carl Morrison and wife Susan of Clinton, Danny Morrison of Clinton, and Gary Morrison and wife Tina of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Morrison of Rockwood, Lorene Davis of Clinton, Edith Haney of Clinton; brothers-in-law, Fred Childs of Clinton, and Mack Childs of Clinton; special friends and loving pastor, the Rev. Ralph Wilson and wife Lorene of Oliver Springs. In addition, she is survived by a special pet, Bud; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
The family received friends Sunday, March 5, 2006, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral services followed in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Monday, March 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton.
Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
