Robert Swanger, age 103, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2003, in Newport. He is survived by his son, Jack Swanger, of Newport; grandchildren, Jackie Swanger, Bobby Swanger, Billy Swanger, Sharon Hill, Vicki Etherton, David Swanger, all of Newport; sisters, Lester Brockwell, of Newport; Anna McNabb, of Mt. Holly, N.C.; and Frances Warner, of Rock Hill, S.C.; eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Alex, Tim, Abby, Chad, Lukes and Jill Swanger, Beth Mullins and husband Josh; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Thursday evening in the West Chapel of Manes Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Swanger officiating with burial 11 a.m. Friday in Faubian Cemetery.
