Garrett Lee Layman, infant son of Marty and Holly Layman went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Garrett was a miracle to his family and touched many hearts during his short time on earth. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, G.L. Layman, Murphy Denton, Lee Vance, Dr. and Mrs. Edward Steffner Sr. Garrett is survived by his parents, Marty and Holly Steffner Layman; proud big sister, Olivia Katherine Layman; grandparents, Dennis and Sue Layman, Ron and Susan Pickering, Edward and Pam Steffner; aunts and uncles, Craig and Neisha Layman and Katherine Steffner; cousins, Taylor, Emma and Caiden; many loving great aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Garrett’s very special nurses, Beth Hilbelink, Kary Pickard and the entire staff of Children’s Hospital NICU. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 pm to 6:45 pm at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with a Celebration of Garrett’s life to follow at 7 pm with Rev. John Brewster officiating. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Union Cemetery on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Farragut United Methodist Church, 12733 Kingston Pike, Farragut, TN 37934 or the Kiwanis Club of Farragut, P.O. Box 22812, Knoxville, TN 37933.
