BENNETT , GENE ALLEN, SR. - age 56, of Knoxville, formerly of Louisville, passed away Thursday October 26, 2000 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. He was the owner of Bennett Roofing and Remodeling Company. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Fraternal Order of Moose. He was of the Apostolic faith and attended the First Apostolic Church of Maryville. He was preceded in death by his father, Orban Bennett ; and sister, Brenda Vineyard. Survivors include his wife, Lynelle Bennett ; sons, Gene Allen Bennett , Jr. of Louisville, and Kevin Bennett of Philadelphia, Tenn.; daughters and sons in law, Laura Ann and John McMillan, Trina and Lee Ivens, both of Friendsville, Lydia and Wes Morton of Knoxville; grandson, Christopher; granddaughter, Emma; mother, Ruby Bennett of Maryville; brother, Robert Bennett of Knoxville; brothers and sisters in law, Carl and Peggy Bennett of Knoxville, Don and Hazel Bennett of Maryville, Clayton and Ann Bennett , David andVickie Bennett , both of Knoxville; sisters, Freida Condry of Maryville, Henrietta Daugherty of Friendsville; sister and brother in law, Rebecca and Joe Reagan of Knoxville. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2000 in the Dotson FuneralHome Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
