CARRIE MAE WHITMAN - entered into her Heavenly home on June 23, 1999 at 5:33 p.m. at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. A lifelong child of God, she will be sorely missed by her loving family and church. Born November 7, 1909 in Anderson, South Carolina. Preceded in death by parents, John Clifton and Mary Taylor Whitman; husband, James Thomas Burnett; sons, James Thomas Burnett, Jr. and Billy F. Burnett. She attended North Lonsdale Church of God. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Raymond Sharp, with whom she made her home; four grandchildren, Edward Sharp, Patricia Sharp Burrage, Perry Burnett and Linda Cowser; four great-grandchildren, Amy and Joshua Burrage, Alexander Burnett and Matthew Cowser. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Rose Chapel with Rev. Steve Jones and Rev. Joe Kennedy officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers: Raymond Foster, Robert Stout, Kenneth Franklin, Troy Baird, Eddie Price and Edward Sharp. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
